Weller Centre Community Garden
What we do
Volunteers at the Weller Centre Community Garden grow flowers, fruit and vegetables in the sheltered garden next to the community centre. The group is run by a trained gardening expert but the whole group helps to plan what to grow.
There are raised beds for growing vegetables, as well as flowers, fruit trees, soft fruit and a shade vine and sheltered area. The community centre has a cafe, seating area and an accessible toilet making this a great space to enjoy, whatever the weather.
Sessions
The group meets once a week on Tuesdays from 10.00 am to 12 noon. At the end of the session, volunteers can join in the weekly lunch club or have a drink in the community centre café.
The sessions are open to all, including people with learning disabilities, older adults and people with mild mental health needs. Children must be supervised. The centre is two bus routes. Sessions are free of charge and there is no requirement for pre-booking.
