Natural England published, Recovering Nature for Growth, Health and Security, in November 2025 in response to the government’s Environmental Improvement Plan.  Improving health and wellbeing is presented as one of the four key outcomes for nature recovery and includes making nature more accessible, promoting engagement with nature and adopting Green Social Prescribing into public health policy. This thus supports the key objectives of Reading Green Wellbeing Network and its member organisations.

Outdoors for All, a report from the All Party Parliamentary Group for Outdoor Recreation and Access to Nature, published in September 2025, recognises improving access to nature engagement activities as a priority, and, additionally, recommends embedding green social prescribing as a core component of NHS and public health strategies
